About Club Trips
Most paddling trips take place on the lakes, rivers (Class I or lower), and coastal areas of Northern California. A leader volunteers to organize each trip; however, each paddler is responsible for his or her own safety.
- SNCKC Scheduled Kayak Trips: SNCKC sponsors 1-2 day kayak trips per month and a few camping trips during summer months.
- Pop-up or Spontaneous Kayak Trips: We also encourage spontaneous or impromptu trips. If you are planning to kayak and would like company, feel free to send an email, a week or a few days before your paddle date, to Rachel Finson: rasatsuki@gmail.com Be sure to include the destination, date, leader contact, and launch time. These are informal paddles and you do not need to schedule these in advance with the Trips Committee. We hope people will take advantage of these impromptu paddles to increase time on the water with friends.
Trip Leaders: We are always looking for people to volunteer as trip leaders. If you are new to leading, we can set you up with someone more experienced to guide you through the process and act as your back-up during the paddle. If you are interested in leading a trip, contact Rachel Finson: rasatsuki@gmail.com.
Nonmembers: You’re invited to join us as our guest on a day paddle before becoming a member. Contact Membership Chair, Chuck Kastenholz, at cvkasten@msn.com for more information. Please contact Chuck well in advance of the trip so there is adequate time to make all arrangements.

Let the Leader Know!
Just a reminder it is mandatory to let the trip leader know if you intend to go on a trip or if you must cancel your plans to go on a trip. This is especially important for camping trips. For organizational, enjoyment, safety, and sometimes financial reasons, it is the leader’s responsibility to know who is going, what site they have reserved (if camping), when they plan to arrive and leave, and to be informed in case they need to cancel. We all appreciate the time and effort our trip leaders expend to arrange successful, enjoyable, and safe trips. Please do your part so we can continue to recruit leaders and have fun trips. Thank you, Your SNCKC Board.
